The story started long before the opening of the Stockbridge, Georgia restaurant in 2018. The story actually started sometime around 1962 in a small town near the Gulf Coast of Alabama. Naturally, New Orleans style cooking and southern cooking in general was the food of choice in that area. Meal time was also a time for the family to gather and talk about the happenings of the day. The Owner’s childhood memories of helping his mother and grandmother in the kitchen peaked an interest in the culinary arts that has lasted throughout the years.
The idea of opening Mama Rachel’s Kitchen, named after the owner’s grandmother (Rachel Porter James), was just the next step in the evolution of things.
At Mama Rachel’s Kitchen we believe:
“You Don’t Get A Second Chance To Make A First Impression”
Our mission is to always provide a comfortable eating environment with good food and excellent service.
